Concordia College Alabama has unveiled a new website that the college believes will make it easier for users to navigate.

Concordia worked with InfoView solutions, an information technology company in Washington D.C. to build the updated website, which will feature high quality images, other types of multimedia and easy access to the college’s online application process.

“We’re very excited about this new website. I think it looks great and will really give us an edge,” said Gabriel Martieres, Concordia’s information technology specialist.

In a press release, Concordia said the website was designed to be more user friendly, easier to navigate and more aesthetically appealing. A mobile-friendly version of the site has also launched.

The new website has the capability to support an online learning program, which the school’s press release said it is looking to add in the future.

“When the school wants to add or grow an online learning system, the new website can offer easy plugins [to accomplish this]. It can support advanced course framework, and has the capability of having an online bookstore,” said Tibebe Menkir, president and CEO of InfoView Solutions.

The college also says the website is better organized, making it easier for users to find the information they need. The website can be viewed at www.ccal.edu.

Concordia also announced that it worked with a higher education consultant to craft a new five-year strategic plan that is pending approval from the college’s Board of Regents.

The new plan would include adding new programs and majors, expanding student activities, renovating dormitories and upgrading the school’s computer labs and Wifi connectivity.

The press release said approval of the new plan is expected in the upcoming weeks.

Once it is approved by the Board of Regents, the strategic plan will be released to the public.
