Kiser’s quick actions stop bridge jumper

Selma Police Officer Michael Kiser would probably tell you he was just doing his job when he responded to a call on the Edmund Pettus Bridge Thursday afternoon, but his quick actions might’ve saved a woman’s life.
Kiser saw a woman that was attempting to jump off the top of the bridge.
She had one foot stepped off and was about to jump when he quickly stepped in and pulled her back over the edge.
The woman was transported to Vaughan Regional Medical Center. We’re unsure what led her to the top of the bridge, but we hope she’s able to get the help she needs.
Luckily, Kiser was there.
Law enforcement officers nationwide receive a lot of criticism these days at times, we think we all forget all the situations they are trained for. If Kiser had hesitated Thursday, the situation might be completely different.
Instead, he made a quick decision and helped end a situation that could’ve turned tragic.
