Mildred “Mimi” Ellis Mott

Mildred “Mimi” Ellis Mott passed away June 15, 2016, at the age of 95. She was born April 30, 1921, to the late Benjamin Franklin Ellis Sr. and Anna Laura Campbell Ellis.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Alton Mott; her parents; her sisters, Ruby Sanders and Elizabeth Thompson; and brothers, Benjamin F. Ellis Jr. and Henry M. Ellis.

She is survived by her special niece, Brenda M. (Gary) Pierson; special nephew, Tommy R. “Bubba” McHugh; nephews, Henry M. (Debbie) Ellis Jr., Donnie Ellis and Michael Ellis; special great-nieces, Kim (Darren) Atchison and Leigh (Derek) Chappelle; special caregiver, Gloria Wims; a host of great nieces and nephews; and brother, Charles D. Ellis.

“Mimi” was a longtime member of Valley Grande Baptist Church, formerly Central Baptist Church.

Funeral services will be Friday, June 17 at 10 a.m. in the chapel of Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home with the Rev. Clarke Skelton and the Rev. Randy deBrabant officiating. Interment will follow in New Live Oak Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home beginning at 9 a.m.

Pallbearers will be Darren Atchison, Derek Chappelle, Hart Sims, Brandon McHugh, Henry Ellis and Gary Pierson.
