Judith “Judy” C. O’Connor

Judith “Judy” C. O’Connor, age 66, of Columbiana, passed away Monday, June 13, 2016, at her home.

Judy was a graduate of A. G. Parrish High School in Selma. She went on to Birmingham Southern College where she majored in psychology. She was a career law enforcement officer, serving 25 years with the Alabama Pardon and Parole Board.

In such capacity she served six years as a member, having been appointed by the governor, and two years as chairman. She was a member of Columbiana Church of Christ. She was predeceased by her parents Harry and Martha Cosby Carmichael.

Her survivors include her husband of 43 years, Bob O’Connor; daughter, Shelby O’Connor; son, Will O’Connor; sisters, Shelby High and Martha Jean Pierce (Kent); brothers, Cosby Carmichael (Marsha) and Jimmy Carmichael (Jeanie); and a host of nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be Thursday, June 16 at 3 p.m. at Columbiana Church of Christ. Charter Funeral Home will be directing.
