Nancy C Kenfield-Lea

Nancy C Kenfield -Lea was born on August 9, 1946, in Selma. She was the daughter of George Kenfield and Margaret Lea and the niece of Henry Edward and Ellen Youngblood Lea of Carlowville. She is preceded in death by her parents.
Nancy was very diversified in her knowledge and talents. She studied in Paris at the Sorbonne. She graduated from FIT in NYC in 1990, was a member of Marcel Marceau Mime Troupe and trained under him personally. She worked for many years for Tower Records in Denver, New Orleans and Nashville. She was very knowledgeable in music especially opera and classical.
Nancy was a talented handloom weaver and owned her own looms. She weaved beautiful fabric and used her time and talent to teach others how to weave.
Other hobbies include going on fossil digs, photography, guitar as well as being fluent in Spanish and French.
Her greatest passion was her love of animals especially dogs and cats. She was a huge advocate for humane societies and animal rights. She adopted numerous abandoned dogs and cats. For this reason, in lieu of flowers, we request that donations in memory of Nancy be made to Selma Animal Shelter, The Humane Society of Central Alabama, P.O Box 511, Selma, AL. 36701, or any humane shelter.
Nancy was compassionate for those less fortunate and portrayed this in the way she lived her life.
She had friends from all walks of life, all over the world. She will truly be missed.
Funeral services will be Friday, June 3, at 10 am. at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Selma. Graveside services will be immediately following at New Live Oak Cemetery .
