Jean Gipson Ryan, age 84, passed away Tuesday, May 24, 2016.

She is preceded in death by her husband, James A. Ryan; son Steven Gregg Ryan; parents, John Henry and Ethel Jones Gipson; and sisters, Dora Gipson and Olean Hardwich.

Jean is survived by her son, James Patrick (Gayle) Ryan; daughter-in-law, Vivian Wych; grandchildren, Jessica Ryan (Bradley) Brandon and Paige Elizabeth Ryan. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, including special niece and caregiver, Vicki O`Connor.

Visitation will begin Friday, May 27 at 10 a.m. Funeral services will follow at Selma Funeral Home at 11:30 a.m. with the Rev. Mike Northcutt officiating. Interment will be in Pineview Memory Gardens cemetery with Selma Funeral Home directing.

Serving as pallbearers will be Bradley Brandon, Buddy Hardwich, Trey Hardwich, Scott Gray, Mark Gray, Spencer Ryan, Bill O`Connor and Randy McRae. Honorary pallbearers will be Scott Taylor, David Griffin and Gary Scott.

Jean was an active member of Eastmont Baptist Church and was in the Hope Sunday School class.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to The American Cancer Society, 233 12th St #710, Columbus, GA 31901, or The American Heart Association, 7167 Mobley Walk Dr, Columbus, GA 31904.
