Cotten wins Men’s Invitational

Robbie C. Cotten began the final round of the Selma Country Club’s 88th annual Men’s Invitational in a four-way tie, four strokes off the lead. He finished the tournament alone in first place.

Cotten shot one of the best rounds of the three-day tournament Sunday, a 67, to win the championship flight of the Men’s Invitational with a 212, one shot under par.

Taylor McCollum placed second, shooting the only other 67 of the tournament on the final day to finish at 213, even par.

Chance Caylor came in third in the championship flight, hitting a 69 in his final round to finish with a 214, one shot above par.

Philip Nader, who led the tournament after two days at one stroke under par, shot a 74 in his final round to tie Paul Garner for fourth with a 215.

Garner shot his best round of the tournament Sunday, a 70, to finish two strokes over par.

David Cothran took the second flight with a 218. Paul Portwood won the third flight, Richard Burch won the fourth flight and Glenn Klicker was the winner of the fifth flight.
