Van Douglas, 69, of Valrico, Florida, passed away on Tuesday, May 17, 2016. A native of Cullman, he had resided here since 1975 coming from Atlanta and grew up in Selma. He coached for the Bay Area Youth Soccer League for many years. He is survived by his wife, Nancy; sons, Van Lawson (Katie) White and Matthew McKibbon (Cassie) White; brother, Ray (Janice) White; sister, Joy (Clint) Bowden; and three grandchildren, Liam White, David and Carson Schiller. A celebration of his life will be held 1 p.m. on Saturday, May 21 at Southern Funeral Care, 10510 Riverview Dr., Riverview, FL, with the family receiving friends one hour prior to services.
