Authorities have released the names of the two people who died in Saturday’s domestic violence shooting.
Teresa J. Petersen, 40, and Marty Joe Ramsey, 50, died inside a home at the intersection of L.L. Anderson Avenue and Lawrence Street, according to Dallas County Coroner William Alan Dailey.
Lt. Sam Miller with the Selma Police Department said investigators are still waiting on findings from the Department of Forensic Science before commenting more about what transpired inside the home.
Police Chief John Brock was as the scene of the shooting Saturday and described the incident as a “domestic violence shooting.”
Brock said police aren’t looking for any additional suspects but wouldn’t elaborate more on the deaths or confirm if they were a murder-suicide.
“We had a domestic violence shooting. We are investigating it. We are awaiting forensic science, [but] we have a good idea what happened,” Brock said. “There is no other suspect. We are interviewing several witnesses. We are just in the process of doing the investigation.”
The shooting happened around 4 p.m. inside a home in the 1500 block of L.L. Anderson Avenue. Police worked the scene for several hours as crowds gathered to watch the investigation.
Brock said autopsies would be performed in Montgomery on both victims, but it could be a few days before those are completed.
