“Doc” Otis Andrew King Jr.

“Doc” Otis Andrew King Jr., of Fairhope, passed away on March 25, 2016, at the age of 89 after a lengthy illness. He was preceded in death by his parents, Otis King Sr. and Lillian King; his brothers, Bill King and Dwight King; and sisters, Yvonne Tendelton, June Hendrix and Jane Sawtelle.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Anna Lois Kilgore King; sons, Nelson (Dianne) King, Bob (Phil) King; daughter, Pamela (Jack) Godwin; sisters, Sally Woods and Lucy Fuller; grandchildren, Maria (Wes) Hicks, Audrey (Lonny) McKinney, Justin (Sarah) Smedley, Jessica (Dustin) Kilgore, Stacey King and Lindsey (Tim) Sylvestor; great-grandchildren, Marianna Hare, Jacob and Grady White, Cooper and Caroline Kilgore, Mason Mimms, Hayden Mckinney, Breanna and Dean Smedley.
Doc was born in Townley and served 20 years in the USAF and retired to Selma and built 24 houses and was a deacon at Houston Park Church of Christ. He was widely known as a very hard working individual.
The family would like to thank William F. Green Veteran’s Home and Thomas Hospital for all of their kindness and care. A memorial service will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Friday, April 1 at Alabama State Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Spanish Fort. Expressions of condolence may be offered at www.hughesfh.com.
