Wade Darrow Simmerman

Wade Darrow Simmerman died March 11, 2016, of advanced acute leukemia. Mr. Simmerman was a retired veteran who served his country for 23 years in the Navy and U.S. Air Force in WWII, Korea and Vietnam. He was a Selma resident since 1970. During this time, he was a member of the Cornerstone Presbyterian Church, a beloved husband of almost 65 years and a loved father. He is survived by his wife, Jane Flowers Simmerman; his son, Jeffry Andrew Simmerman, LCR, USCG (retired) of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; and his six grandchildren who reside in the Baton Rouge area. He was preceded in death by his son, James D. Simmerman, a writer and regents professor of Flagstaff, Arizona.
