Robert “Bob” Wright

Robert “Bob” Wright passed away Saturday March 5, 2016, after a brief illness. Bob was born January 30, 1926. He enlisted in the Navy during World War II and served aboard the USS Hake in the Pacific. Bob moved his family from Alliance, Ohio to Fort Myers in 1964. In 1996, he became an usher for the Red Sox at City of Palms Park. Even after he moved to Sardis in 1999, he continued ushering and customer service for the Red Sox during spring training. He became an avid Red Sox fan. He loved talking with the people at the park. He always had a smile on his face and would make people laugh.
Bob is survived by his wife Ellen of 69 years, brother Bill Wright, sister, Dee Daum; daughters Sue Stroefer (John), Carol Hughes, and Robin Miller (Mal); his grandchildren Tammy Harris (Bob), Robert Hughes (Paula), Jason Miller (Courtney) and Kimberly Holladay (Jeremy); and great grandchildren Sarah Harris, Maxwell Harris, and John Morgan Holladay. Services will be private. Bob will be buried at sea.
