Ms. Lelar Deloise Smith, 64, of Rochester, New York, formerly of Selma, passed away, Feb. 24, 2016, at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester. Services are scheduled for Saturday, March 5 (will lay in state from 11 a.m. – noon) at New Generation officiated by Arthur Price. Burial to follow at Friendship Baptist Church cemetery directed by Randall Miller Funeral Service.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Survivors include husband, James Chandler; one son, Cedric Smith (Tara) and one daughter, Stacey Chandler, both of Rochester; four brothers, Lee Smith, Willie Smith (Mary) of Minter, Roosevelt Smith of Batavia, New York and J.D. Smith (Elizabeth) of New Jersey; four sisters, Rosie M. Davis, Alberta Smith, Shirley Jackson of Minter, Viola Moses of New Jersey; and a host of grandchildren, son-in-laws, brother-in-laws, sister-in-laws, nieces and nephews.
