Selma Fire Department responded to a house fire Monday morning near the intersection of Selma Avenue and Vine Street.

Joe Lewis said he was inside the house, which is owned by his sister, when he heard popping noises.

“I was asleep when I heard some popping — the house was already on fire,” Lewis said.

Lewis is unsure of what caused the fire.

The fire department is currently investigating the cause.
