The Dallas County Sheriff’s Department is scaling back a missing person investigation after receiving proof the woman is safe.

On Thursday afternoon, investigators obtained video surveillance from a Valley Grande grocery store showing Jessica Sheehan shopping earlier that day.

“We turned around and sent a picture of the video to her family just to confirm that it was her,” said Sgt. John Hatfield. “And it was.”

The video shows Sheehan driving up to the store, shopping and leaving the store alone around noon.

“She went in and bought some small items,” Hatfield said. “She appears to be in perfect health.”

Investigators don’t believe she is in danger and are no longer classifying the case as a missing person.

“We are scaling back with the simple fact that we spoke to someone that she stayed with,” Hatfield said.

Sheehan stayed with a friend in Wilcox County from Sunday night until Thursday, according to the sheriff’s department.

Hatfield said the next step is to talk to Sheehan for answers about what’s going on.

“We would love to talk to her. We have some questions,” Hatfield said.
