Dallas County boys basketball coach Willie Moore achieved a rare milestone Tuesday when he picked up his 500th career coaching victory when the Hornets defeated Billingsley.
Moore has spent over a decade coaching at Dallas County High School and has turned the Hornets’ basketball program into an every year contender in class 5A.
Although he downplays it, Moore’s 500 wins take a lot of dedication, perseverance and patience. His two decades on the sideline have paid off, not only for him, but for the players he’s coached through the years.
Our coaches and teachers often spend as much time with our youth as parents do. Luckily, we have many great coaches like Moore in our schools that want our children to win on the field, court, diamond and in the classroom.
Congratulations to Moore for all he has accomplished during his stellar career.
