There may not be a more consistent girls’ basketball program in the state than the Selma Saints, who won their 20th game of the season Friday night with a 56-42 win over Paul Bryant.

It was the 13th consecutive year that Selma has won 20 games. The win also moved the Saints to 5-0 in class 6A, area 6 play and left them one win from officially wrapping up the regular season area title. They’ll get a chance to do that on Tuesday when they play at Hillcrest-Tuscaloosa.

Areyana Williams flirted with a  triple-double, scoring 20 points, 10 rebounds and eight steals to lead the Saints. Jamya Smith shook off an illness to score 13 points. Ta’Sharri Grimes and Jacquetta Dailey each scored nine points for Selma.

The Saints led 30-21 at halftime but methodically pulled away in the second half.
