Officers with the Selma Police Department responded to an alarm call at the ABC Store on the 2300 block of Marie Foster Avenue Wednesday morning and ended up in a high-speed chase.
Officers arrived at the ABC store around 3 a.m. and found a broken window and a 2005 Hyundai Sonata leaving at a high rate of speed, according to Lt. Sam Miller with the Selma Police Department.
Miller said officers attempted to stop the vehicle, but it led them to the 1800 block of Water Avenue before two suspects exited and tried to elude officers on foot.
Maurice Segun Shelton, 23, was apprehended and probable cause was established to charge him with burglary third. He was given a $15,000 bond.
One other unidentified suspect got away.
Miller said several liquor bottles from the store were found inside the car.
The case remains under investigation.
