Edwin Lamar Sumlin

Edwin Lamar Sumlin passed away Dec. 15, 2015, at the age of 77. He was born April 24, 1938, to the late Shelby and Estell Wyatt Sumlin.

He was preceded in death by his mother and father and grandson, Wellsley Owen.

He is survived by his wife, Rita Griffin Sumlin; daughter, Cristi Sumlin (Bobby) Owen; step-son, Michael (Kimberly) Barr; step-daughters, Stephanie (Lloyd) Chisenall and Christina Barr; grandchildren, Cafferty Owens, Noel Sanders, Melanie Sanders, Hannah Adams, Michelle Johnson, Lindsay Barr and Matthew Pruitt; brother, Frank Sumlin; sisters, Lorenne Britton and Christine (Eddie) Kowalski.

Graveside services will be Friday, Dec. 18, at New Live Oak Cemetery with the Rev. Jerry Smith officiating and Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday evening from 6 -8 p.m.

Pallbearers will be The Selma Fire Department.
