“It will benefit greatly this time of year because we have several families that we are trying to do Christmas for … We are very blessed to be getting this donation.” SABRA executive director Nancy Travis said.

SABRA provides services to Dallas, Perry, Wilcox, Marengo, Sumter and Greene counties.

In addition to providing emergency and temporary housing, SABRA offers a 24-hour crisis line, counseling, community education and additional services.

“We choose charities that we feel like can benefit.” Hall said. “I visited this center, and I was just, I cried.”

Amy Carmichael, domestic violence specialist, said that SABRA provides programs that teach victims to become self-sustaining.
