Bessie Lee Hammonds Grisham passed away Nov. 22, 2015, at the age of 77. She was born May 4, 1938, to the late Icem Bruce Hammonds and Irene Ferguson Burris.

She was preceded in death by her son, John Carswell; grandchildren, Jeremy Todd Carswell, Steven Josiah Carswell, Rebecca Carswell and Jonathan Carswell; twin sister, Minnie Lee Creech; and sisters, Margaret Daniels and Dale Elaine Purvis.

She is survived by her sons, Robert (Cathy) Carswell, Bruce (Janice) Carswell and James (Brenda) Carswell; daughter, Earldeen Kimbril; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and sisters, Mary Alice (Kenneth) Williamson and Betty Jane Hill.

Funeral services will be Friday, Nov. 27, 2015, at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home. Interment will follow in New Live Oak Cemetery.

The family will receive friends beginning at 1 p.m. at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Ryan Carswell, Bruce A. Carswell, Patrick Carswell, David Carswell, Dalton Carswell and Michael Cowan. Honorary pallbearers will be Mrs. Grisham’s grandsons.
