Sewell to host second town hall

U.S. Rep. Terri Sewell will host a second Black Belt Town Hall in Marion on Monday to discuss the impact state budget cuts are having in her district.

Sewell hosted a previous meeting last month in Camden to discuss the cuts, including the decision to close driver’s license offices across the Black Belt.

“While state officials have partially reopened the 31 DMV offices, there is still a real need for financial solutions that do not balance the budget on the backs of rural Alabamians,” Sewell said. “I am committed to continuing these town halls to hear first-hand accounts of how these decisions affect my constituents and to addressing these concerns. I look forward to working diligently with state lawmakers to find meaningful solutions that will restore essential services to these vulnerable communities,”
