Lillian Eloise Young Gradin, born July 16, 1915, in Selma, passed away peacefully, on July 14, 2015, in the home of her daughter, Vivian, in Hondo, Texas.
One of three siblings, Eloise was the oldest daughter of Joseph and Vivian Young. She had a brother, Harold, and a sister, Gwen.
Eloise always claimed to be a “gypsy.” She and her sister traveled all over the world with friends. Eloise never met a stranger, thus teaching her daughters to accept people as they are, enjoying their differences.
The planned 100th birthday party was changed to a celebration of her life.
Relatives came from all across the country to remember her wonderful spirit and her love of life. She was predeceased by her parents; husband, Clarence Olaf Gradin; grandson; brother; and sister. She is survived by her daughters and their husbands, Vivian and John Fink and Karin and Steve Stewart of Acton, California, three grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
