Affectionately known as Annie Runny, Ann Owen Capps died at her home Oct. 16, 2015, after a three year battle with breast cancer.  Her husband of 68 years was at her side when she passed.

Born May 6, 1929, in Ware County, Georgia, to Jessie Ella Booth and Runny Fitzhugh Owen, she moved to Selma shortly after her marriage.  She was the last of six children.

Ann worked at the Selma Baptist Hospital as a medical transcriptionist for over 20 years.  She later worked with Cahaba Regional Mental Health as the drug clerk for 14 years.

Survivors include her husband, Bradley D. (B.D.) Capps; son, Bradley D. Capps (Stella); daughter, Candi C. Duncan (Arthur) of Selma, and daughter, Camille Capps of Destin, Florida.  Grandchildren include, Tammy (Patrick) White, Wendy (Ricky) Moore, Morgan Duncan and Lane Duncan.  Great-grandchildren are McLean, Clint and Blain White.  Survivors also include a host of nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at Selma Funeral Home on Sunday, Oct. 18, 2015, at 2:30 p.m. with the Rev. Rick Elrod officiating.  Visitation will be the hour before.
