Annie Bernice Johnson, 88, of Uniontown, went to be with her Lord on Oct. 14, 2015, at her home. Bernice was born March 3, 1927, in Bibb County to the late John and Ollie Watkins Averette. She is preceded in death by her parents, John and Ollie Watkins Averette; her husband, Abraham “ Pete” Johnson; her daughter, Ruth Johnson Roberts; and her two sons, A.J. Johnson and Richard Johnson.

She is survived by her daughters, Oneda Wilkerson of Millers Ferry, Joyce White of Selma and Denice Penman (Jim) of Princeton, Texas; her sons, Glenn Johnson (Ruby) of Uniontown and Mark Johnson (Cindy) of Port Richey, Florida; her brother, John Earl Averette (Melissa) of Uniontown; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Sunday, Oct. 18, 2015, at Uniontown Church of God at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Ronnie Blankenship and Wayne Rouse officiating and Kirk Funeral Homes Demopolis Chapel directing.

Burial will follow the service at 3:30 p.m. at Pine Flat Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday night from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Active pallbearers will be Ken Wilkerson, Paul Wilkerson, Michael Johnson, Allen Canterbury, Johnny Canterbury and Jason Johnson.

Honorary pallbearers will be Tony Moreland, Troy Anderson, Clyde Ballard, Jonathan Johnson and Morris Jordan.
