Youth football season kicked off Saturday at Memorial Stadium. –Daniel Evans

EDITOR’S NOTE: Below are recaps from the Selma Recreation Department’s youth football league. These are provided by the recreation department and published as often as possible.

Saturday, Sept. 19

49’ers 12, Bobcats 0

The 49’ers defeated the Bobcats 12-0 behind a 3-yard touchdowns from Markeice Stallworth Jr. and a 57-yard rush by Ghvon Furlow.

Jr. Bears 14, Jr. Cowboys 14

The Jr. Bears and Jr. Cowboys tied 14-14 Saturday. Alexander Johnson scored two touchdowns for the Jr. Bears and also ran in a two-point conversion. Venetris Eaton scored two touchdowns for the Jr. Cowboys and also scored a two-point conversion. Since the teams were in the 5-and 6-year-old age division, they did not play overtime.

Bears 22, Broncos 8

Quirderius Chambers scored two touchdowns and Keon Hope added a score as the Bears defeated the Broncos 22-8. Zion Small also added a two-point conversion for the Bears.Tommy Tisdale Jr. scored on a 2-yard touchdown for the Broncos and also added a two-point conversion run.

Jr. Bobcats 12, Jr. Rams 0

The Jr. Bobcats scored twice in the fourth quarter to squeak by the Jr. Rams 12-0. Scoring information was not available for this game.

Panthers 6, Bengals 0

Kendarious White scored on a 65-yard run to lead the Panthers past the Bengals 6-0.

Lions 8, Packers 0

Derick Smith scored on a 65-yard touchdown run and also added a two-point conversion to lead the Lions past the Packers 8-0.

Dolphins 28, Raiders 8

Delundre Garner scored on 35 and 45-yard touchdown runs to lead the Dolphins past the Raiders 28-8. Jayln Johnes and Geequail Garner also added touchdowns. Garner scored two two-point conversions. Joshua Palmer scored the Raiders’ touchdown and also added a two-point conversion run.

Vikings 8, Jets 6

Tristine Michael scored on a 22-yard touchdown run and Kenterrius Posey added a two-point run to lead the Vikings past the Jets 8-6. Rodrick Myles had a 90-yard rushing touchdown for the Jets.

 

Monday, Sept. 21

Bengals 8, Panthers 0

The Bengals defeated the Panthers on a late-game touchdown. The game was scoreless going into the fourth quarter when the Bengals ran for a 21-yard touchdown and a two-point conversion. No scoring information was available for this game.

Jr. Seahawks 6, Colts 0

Fabyous Robinson scored the lone touchdown for the Jr. Seahawks as they defeated the Colts 6-0. Robinson ran for a 3-yard touchdown in the second quarter, as the Jr. Seahawks held the Colts scoreless for the rest of the game.

Jr. Dolphins 32, Jr. Bears 8

Omari Smith and Quamarine Pernell each scored two touchowns to lead the Jr. Dolphins past the Jr. Bears.

Pernell scored a 30-yard touchdown in the first quarter and a 7-yard touchdown in the second quarter. Smith scored a 12-yard touchdown in the second quarter and a 34-yard touchdown in the third quarter. Alexander Johnson scored the lone touchdown for the Jr. Bears with a 21-yard touchdown run in the second quarter.
