Martin Middle school’s junior varsity football team improved to 1-1 Thursday after beating Tipton Middle 8-6. The Bulldogs scored their only touchdown on the opening drive.

Artavis Palmer threw a 30 yard touchdown pass to Patrick Callens and the defense would hold up for Martin to give the team its first victory of the season.

Martin lost its first game 8-0 at Marbury Sept. 3. The Bulldogs’ next game is at Jemison Thursday at 6 p.m.
