Crisman, his wife Jean Lassiter Crisman, their only son Lewie Rivers Crisman, his loving companion the last twenty years Mary Jane Wilcox, and all of his siblings. Lewie was the last of his generation.  He will be missed.

He is survived by two neices: Connie Crisman Birk and Sarah Crisman Cater, by two nephews: Edwin Gray Crisman and William Otey Crisman III, by an adopted daughter Jan Johnson, and by a host of great neices and nephews and their children, and many friends who knew and loved him.

Lewie was a very gifted and talented person.  He was a registered land surveyor active in this field for some 60 years, he was a champion amatuer golfer, avid water skier, planner, inventor, photographer, golf course and golf community architect,  and author of several books.  In the midst of all of his activity Lewie was also an active advocate for state services to special needs children and adults, and issue that was very close to his heart.

A memorial service to celebrate Lewie’s life will be held at Lawrence Funeral Home, Selma, AL., Saturday July 25, 2015 at 2PM.  Visitation will be from 1-2PM. No flowers please.  Instead donations may be made in Lewie’s honor to the Lewie Rivers Crisman Memorial Scholarship Trust, Alabama-West Florida United Methodist Foundation, Inc., Dothan, AL.

A special thank you to Lynn Alexander and Faye Lane who faithfully and lovingly cared for Lewie the last five weeks.  Also, a special thanks to the staff of Cedar Hill

Assisted Living and Homestead Hospice for your thoughtful care.  You made his homegoing much easier.
