Annie Merle Nichols, age 91, of Selma, passed away July 6, 2015.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Cecil Shumate and Donald Nichols; parents, Robert L. and Annie Norene Edwards; three brothers; and one sister.
She is survived by her children, Carolyn (Dannie) Jones, Shirley Rowell and Edward (Elaine) Shumate; grandchildren, Bryan Jones, Blake Jones, Mitch Rowell, Carla Lewis, Windy Horton and Beth Caver; 13 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins; and special friend and caretaker, Barbara Garris.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, July 8, 2015, at 11 a.m. at Ocmulgee Baptist Church with Dr. Robert Taylor and the Rev. Danny Sumerlin officiating. Visitation will be prior to the service from 10-11 a.m. at the church. Interment will be in Ocmulgee Baptist Cemetery with Selma Funeral Home directing.
Her grandsons and nephews will serve as pallbearers.
