Two-time (2014-15) Alabama Sports Writers Association first-team All-State pitcher Kyle Friday added some depth to the Patriots’ dynamic roster after signing his national letter of intent on January 23.
“He can throw it up around 87-88 from the mound,” Elliot said. “He can also hit and you can play him at short, second or third. He’s versatile. I like the arm strength too and his size, being around 6-2.”
The Orrville native finished the 2015 season with seven wins and one loss. Friday capped his high school days on the diamond off with 62 strikeouts through 33 innings, a 2.48 ERA, .527 batting average, two homeruns and 34 RBI’s.
