A 29-year-old woman turned herself into the Selma Police Department Monday afternoon for allegedly cutting her ex-boyfriend at a nightclub early Sunday morning.

According to Lt. Curtis Muhannad, Natarsha Williams was arrested for first-degree domestic violence assault. Williams was booked into the Dallas County Jail on a $30,000 bond. First-degree domestic violence assault is a class B felony and punishable by up to 20 years in prison and fines up to $30,000.

Muhannad said officers responded to the emergency room at Vaughan Regional Medical Center early Sunday morning around 1:58 a.m. in reference to an assault victim.

“The emergency room staff directed [officers] to the location, where a black male, age 28, was being treated for a severe laceration to his right arm,” Muhannad said. “The victim, a Selma resident, advised officers that he was attending a night club in the 1800 block of Selma Avenue … when he got into an argument with his ex-girlfriend.”

Muhannad said the victim told officers that Williams pulled a knife during the argument, which was about their relationship ending, and cut him down his right arm.

“The victim’s wound was so severe he had to be transported to a hospital in the Montgomery County area for further treatment,” Muhannad said.

Williams turned herself in around 3 p.m. Monday after the police department issued a warrant for her arrest, Muhannad said.
