Toros win first game of the year

The Selma Toros (1-2) picked up their first win of the year Sunday in a 7-3 victory over the Montgomery Yankees at Bloch Park.

The Toros, which compete in the Central Alabama Amateur Baseball League, were led by Marion’s David Billingsley’s big day. Billingsley went 3-for-3 with an RBI and scored two runs while Alcon State signee Chris Clark was a home run away from completing the cycle.

The win also was Javaris Davis first as a manager. Brandon Kyser was the winning pitcher for the Toros.

Selma will take on the Clanton All-Stars at Bloch Park Sunday at 3:30 p.m. All kids who wear city parks and recreation league jerseys will get in for free.
