Library to offer youth summer of activities

The Selma-Dallas County Public Library is full of activities for children during the summer months. With school being out and kids needing something to do, the library is a perfect place for kids to have fun, read a book and stay entertained this summer.

The library’s Sensational Summer programs kicked off Monday with a magic show put on by Gary Ledbetter of Dynamite Magic & Balloons.

More than 100 youth came out to see the magic show, which means more than 100 kids visited the library on Monday alone.

We think this program, in its 37th year, has a lot to be proud of. It’s great that the library provides fun, entertaining activities for children during the summer to keep them engaged and coming to the library. Not only will kids be able to participate in the programs, but they can also get their own library card and check out books to read at home.

The library will have a very busy June and July with different shows and activities nearly every day to keep kids coming back.
