Merritt Katherine Parris passed away Saturday, May 23, 2015. She was born April 13, 2015, in Birmingham.

Merritt is preceded in death by her grandmother, Roberta Trathen Parris; great grandparents, James and Esther Tackett, Louis and Rosa Griffin, Clem and Mildred Parris and Robert and Charlotte Trathen.

She is survived by her parents, Matthew and Julia Parris; grandparents, Edward and Lisa Griffin and Jerry and Sonja Parris; aunts, Elizabeth Griffin and Pam Griffin Arroyo (Marco); uncle, Ed Griffin (Micha); aunt, Christina O’Dell (Scott); Kelley Pearce (John); Frank Tucker (Lori); and numerous nieces, nephews, great aunts and great uncles.

A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 27 at Elkdale Baptist Church with the Rev. Cory Horton officiating and Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home directing. Memorials can be sent to Red Mountain Grace, P.O. Box 382562,  Birmingham, AL 35238 or The March of Dimes.
