It’s been an incredible week for Dallas County High School alumna Cassie Jones. Actually, it’s been an incredible year.

Jones threw her fifth career no-hitter Tuesday — a school record— as Auburn Montgomery defeated Davenport 3-0 to advance to the winner’s bracket championship game of the Auburn Montgomery bracket in the NAIA softball championships.

The Warhawks will play the winner of Tuesday night’s loser’s bracket championship game between No. 2 seed Davenport and No. 3 Georgia Gwinnett. Wednesday’s championship game will be played at 1 p.m., with the if-necessary game to follow immediately after.

Jones also threw her 1,000th career strikeout in Monday’s win over Tennessee Wesleyan. In that game she threw her 12th career shutout, which was extended to 13th with the win Tuesday.

She was also named the Southern States Athletic Conference pitcher of the year.
