William David Prince, 60, long time resident of Selma, passed away at his home Saturday, April 4, 2015.
We will miss our Papa more than words can say, but we know that he was born again and is now with his Heavenly Father in his forever home.
To know him was to love him. He was a humble, gentle man that loved his family dearly. God gained a true angel. We will miss our big bear hugs, our ability to climb in his lap and get rocked, him drying our hair, cutting off lights behind us, telling us to put on socks and our nightly tuck-ins. We’ll miss his smile, his stories and his way of making everything seem alright in what we thought were the worst of times. He was the perfect example of how a man, husband, father and son should be and loved his Cherry Pie more than life itself. He was, and always will be, our hero, our Super Dave!
David was a member of the Moose Lodge and the VFW in Selma, and retired from Bush Hog after over 20 years of service.
He was preceded in death by his son, Danny Prince of Jemison; his parents, John and Christine Prince; and two brothers, Ronnie Martin and Ricky Prince, all of Lawrenceburg, Tenn. He was survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Cherry Moore Prince; his daughters, Julie (Mique) Jones and Lane Prince, all of Clanton. He was also survived by his mother-in-law, Ruth Moore of Tenn.; daughter-in-law, Susan Prince of Jemison; and two brothers, Dan (Linda) Prince of Ga., and Dean (Doris) Martin of Tenn. David had 10 jewels, better known as his grandchildren: Matthew, Austin, Brianna, Hunter, Kirsten, Katie, Savannah, Will, May and Haley Grace. Several other cousins, nieces and nephews also survived.
The celebration of his life will be held Saturday, April 11, 2015, at 11 a.m. at Lomax Assembly of God Church, 17580 U.S. Highway 31, Clanton.
