According to a press release from Lt. Curtis Muhannad, Jackson was arrested just after 1 a.m. Friday after the police department received an anonymous tip that he was staying at a residence on the 1600 block of Weaver Street.

Officers obtained a warrant for Jackson, and he was taken into custody without any incident.

According to the release, investigators recovered a 9mm handgun and a fully loaded SKS assault rifle along with two 30-round magazines from the home.

The charges stem from an incident that happened on the 1200 block of Woodrow Avenue on August 17, 2014, according to Lt. Muhannad.

Jackson allegedly shot a 20-year-old male and fired his weapon into two apartments that were occupied at the time of the shooting. The victim suffered a gunshot wound to the upper left torso.

After being taken into custody, Jackson was transported to the Selma Police Department, where he was charged with the three felonies.

If convicted, Jackson could be facing 10 years to life in prison and up to $60,000 in fines for the attempted murder charge and two to 20 years in prison and up to $30,000 for the discharging a firearm into an occupied dwelling charges.

Jackson is currently being held on no bond at the Dallas County Jail.
