Sandra “Sandy” Reed Wood

Sandra “Sandy” Reed Wood, 65, of Eagle River, Alaska, passed away on Feb. 24, 2015, after a hard fight with pancreatic cancer. She was born and raised in Selma.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Audrey Reed.

Sandy served as a U.S. civil servant, retiring after 30 years as a contract administrator. During her life, she enjoyed salmon fishing, hunting, camping, gardening and cooking. Her family and friends will remember her as a warm, giving person who always looked to help others before concern for herself.

She is survived by her husband, Sam Wood, son Gary (Melissa) Wood brother Robert (Wanda) Woods, sister Margaret (Frankie) Oyler and grandsons Trevor Wood, Logan Wood, and Brody Wood. A memorial service will be held in Alaska on March 21, 2015 and also in Selma at Memorial Methodist Church on March 19, 2015, at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Steve Kopp officiating.
