We want to hear your Selma stories from 1965
Published 11:52 pm Thursday, February 5, 2015
We’re still looking for people that were here in 1965 for Bloody Sunday and those who marched to Montgomery. We want to hear from everyone who has a story to tell for a special publication that will be printed in March.
The publication will be a special section meant to highlight those who fought and sacrificed for the right to vote. We’ve heard from many that have great stories to tell — some that have not been told before and there’s surely more out there.
We want to give everyone in the community who wants to participate a chance to do so.
There will never be another 50th anniversary, and we want to make sure to tell this story to the fullest extent possible.
Anyone interested in sharing a story from 1965, please call editor Justin Averette 410-1730 or email news@selmatimesjournal.com.
Time is of the essence, as the commemorative edition will be printed in just over two weeks.
