Saturday event expected to be exciting learning experience for all ages

It will not be long before Grow Selma officially begins digging into its major community garden endeavor, and its sure to be a fun experience for all that choice to join.
The group is leading a volunteer day at the Mill Village Community Garden and Food Park Saturday, Feb. 7 at 8 a.m., and it is inviting the community join them.
Participants will get to help start work on the garden and plant orchard trees, while the main focus of the day to provide a learning experience for all that attend. The project was started a more than year ago, when the Blackbelt Benefit Group leased two acres of land near the intersection of Jackson Street and Morgan Avenue, according to Chip Spencer, a member of Grow Selma.
Residents shouldn’t miss this golden opportunity to bring life to the Grow Selma’s vision for the community to bond while growing and sharing their fresh produce and vision for sustainability.
