Martha Josephine Worrell McCully

Martha Josephine Worrell McCully, age 86, passed away Jan. 13, 2015. She was married to Robert Andrew McCully for nearly 54 years until his death in 2009. She was born Nov. 17, 1928, the daughter of the late James B. and Ellen Inez LaGrone Worrell.
Martha Jo was a graduate of Alabama College (B.A., now the University of Montevallo) and the University of Alabama (M.A.), and was the first teacher of multi-handicapped children in Dallas County. She was an elder and active member of First Presbyterian Church, and was honored with a lifetime membership to Presbyterian Women. Often of service to others, until recently she delivered Meals on Wheels.
She is survived by her sons, Robert A. “Bob” (Mimi) McCully Jr. and James “Jimmy” Wilson McCully; daughter, Margaret “Meg” McCully (Rob) Neill; and grandchildren, Ellen McCully (Drew) Pittman, Robert Andrew (Amanda) McCully III, Martha Marie McCully and Samuel Robert Neill.
Memorial services will be Saturday, Jan. 17, 2015, at 2 p.m. at Cornerstone Presbyterian Church. Mrs. McCully will be interred privately in the Valley Creek Presbyterian Cemetery. The family will receive friends in the Warren Room at the church beginning at 1 p.m.
