Residents in the Jones area will now have a new, closer place to shop, as Dollar General plans to open its doors to customers this weekend.

Dollar General announced in a press release that the grand opening of the Jones store is scheduled for Saturday, Jan. 10 at 8 a.m. at 620 County Road 79.

“Dollar General is committed to delivering a pleasant shopping experience that includes a convenient location, a wide assortment of merchandise and great prices on quality products,” said Dan Nieser, Dollar General’s senior vice president of real estate and store development. “We hope our Jones customers will enjoy shopping at Dollar General’s new location.”

The store will reward its first 50 shoppers with a $10 Dollar General gift card, and the first 200 shoppers will receive a Dollar General tote bag along with other giveaways.

According to a press release from Dollar General, the store will offer convenience and value to its customers by providing them with a “focused selection of national name brands of food, housewares, seasonal items, cleaning supplies, basic apparel and health and beauty products.”

The company said the store will feature a layout that makes shopping easier for customers. The store’s location will also make it easier for people that live in Jones.

The store will employ between six and 10 people, according to the release. To apply for a job at the Jones Dollar General, people can visit the career section on Dollar General’s website.
