Art Jam great event for community

Art Jam was a huge success for the Blackbelt Benefit Group and Grow Selma, as  hundreds of people attended the second annual event.

The event was a fundraiser for the community garden project, an endeavor we can all get behind. The community garden project involves members of the community coming together to support local farms and the local economy, and especially for good food.

Art Jam also gave local artists a chance to show off some of their work, and even sell some of their pieces.

Those that bought artwork from the show were able to give back not only to the artist, but also to the Art Jam fundraiser since a portion of the sale was given back to the Blackbelt Benefit Group.

The event was great for people to get out and enjoy great art, food and music. Destiny Brown, The Band of Heathens and Patterson Hood from The Drive-By Truckers were the performers at the sold-out show.

It was an event for people of all ages to really enjoy themselves while giving back to the community and supporting some great local artists.

It wasn’t only locals that got to enjoy the event though. People drove from out of town to experience the great talents that we have in Selma.

Events like this help the community by bringing others here and boosting our economy.

We want to see more events like Art Jam in Selma, and really see the community get out and have a good time together while benefiting others in the area.

It’s always a good thing when people can have fun, enjoy eachother and give back.
