Meadowview Christian 52, New Life Christian 46 (boys)
Clayton Thorton had a double-double to lead Meadowview Christian past New Life Christian 52-46 Monday night.
Thorton had 18 points and 10 rebounds, Johnny Maul added 13 points and Jevar McGuire had eight for the Trojans. Meadowview is now 2-0 on the season.
New Life Christian 56, Meadowview Christian 37 (Girls)
Christina Dabit scored 19 points, but it asn’t enough as Meadowview Christian (1-1) fell to New Life Christian Monday night.
Mallory Freine added nine points and Claudia Kendrick scored four points. Meadowview’s Lady Trojans are now 1-1 on the season.
New Life Christian 26, Meadowview Christian 23 (JV)
Justin McGuire scored nine points but the Meadowview Christian junior varsity still fell to New Life Christian 26-23 Monday night. Justin McGuire scored nine points, Jaymon McGuire added six more and Mason Kendrick also had five for the Trojans in the defeat.
Selma 70, Sidney Lanier 18 (Girls)
Selma’s Lady Saints (1-3) got their first win of the year Tuesday night, defeating Sidney Lanier 70-18.
Kynadra Lewis scored 14 points to lead the way for the Saints and Areyana Williams added 12 points. Jamya Smith and Kierra Armstead also had 11 points for the Saints.
Selma will play at Demopolis Thursday.
Keith boys defeat R.C. Hatch; girls fall in close one
Keith’s boys (1-1) bounced back from a last second loss to Selma Friday to defeat R.C. Hatch 72-65 Tuesday.
The Lady Bears (1-1) weren’t as lucky, falling to R.C. Hatch 47-44 for their first defeat of the year.
WCCS to take on Southern Union Thursday
Wallace Community College Selma will take on Southern Union Thursday night. The Patriots’ men’s team has won five consecutive games going into Thursday. The women’s game will start at 5:30 p.m., followed by the men’s game at 7:30 p.m. There is no admission fee to get into the games.
