Selma Mall readies for Christmas bazaar

There will be no shortage of locally made products at the Selma Mall’s 2014 Holiday Bazaar Dec. 6.
The sale, which is in its third year, allows individuals and organizations that would like to sale homemade arts and crafts, baked goods or canned goods to showcase their work.
“It is a way for the local craftsmen and bakers to come out and showcase their stuff,” Selma Mall assistant manager and event organizer Sharon Krause said.
It is free to participate, but each participant is asked to donate two items for the event’s cake walk and raffle.
“It is letting people that can’t normally go out and open up their own business showcase their stuff and people are buying locally,” Krause said. “It’s a perfect place to come because they have other stores to go in also. It is family oriented, and it is just a lot of fun.”
The event will take place from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and is held on the first Saturday of December. Krause said she expects a big crowd.
The bazaar will have a winter wonderland theme with Christmas carolers, Santa’s helpers, a cake walk and a raffle.
As of Monday, a total of 10 booths have registered to take part, but the bazaar can hold as many as 20.
Krause said so far there are a lot of people that will sell baked goods, candy, cookies, cakes, jewelry and possibly a gentleman selling walking canes. She said she has never had someone who paints or does art but would like to find someone who does.
“The one thing we haven’t gotten is someone who does paintings and that kind of stuff, so I hope somebody will bring that,” Krause said.
To register, contact the Selma Mall office at 874-7112. The deadline to register was originally Nov. 15, but it has been extended.
