The cover vote for the 2014 Hoopla magazine will kick off Wednesday at 12 p.m. and will end Sunday at 5 p.m.

The vote will take place on the Selma Times-Journal’s Facebook page. A current male and female basketball player from each high school will be represented in the vote, which will include seven different cover choices. Each school has been paired with another school in the vote.

To vote for the photo you would like to see on the cover, all you have to do is “like” the photo in the Hoopla album on the Times-Journal’s Facebook page.

“We felt like the cover vote for this year’s Gridiron magazine was a big success,” said Times-Journal sports editor Daniel Evans.

“We thought it pumped up the community for the upcoming season and evened up the vote by pairing schools.”

The Hoopla magazine is the Times-Journal’s annual local high school and collegiate basketball preview magazine.

It will include team photos for each school and a season preview for each of Dallas County’s seven high schools and three colleges.

Last year Dallas County’s William Lee and Meadowview Christian’s Christina Dabit were on the cover of the magazine.

The matchups for this year’s cover choices are: Selma’s Juwan Watters and Ellwood Christian’s MaKayla Berry, Dallas County’s Jerrod Moorer and Morgan Academy’s Kendall Veach, Southside’s Ken-Tavious Page and Meadowview Christian’s Claudia Kendrick, Ellwood Christian’s C.J. Grimes and Southside’s Calvondrea Blackmon, Keith’s Jaquan Simmons and Dallas County’s Alexis Goodwin, Morgan Academy’s Tyler Bush and Keith’s Harriet Winchester and Meadowview Christian’s Clayton Thorton and Selma’s J’Tia White.
