Southside unable to slow W.S. Neal

The Southside Panthers suffered a difficult 55-8 loss Friday night to the W.S. Neal Eagles in East Brewton. The Eagles put up a total of 392 yards of offense in the game, while holding the Panthers to 45 total yards.
At halftime, Neal was leading 35-0, having scored on runs of 18, 1, 4, and 5 yards and a 20-yard pass from Lane Chavers to Jacoby Hawthorne.
In the first half of the game, Neal rushed for 149 yards and passed for 65 yards, while Southside struggled on the ground with -26 yards rushing and 51 yards passing.
In the second half, the Eagles scored on runs of 23, 37, and 3 yards.
The Panthers got on the board with an impressive 80-yard kickoff return for a touchdown by De’Quan Johnson with 1:51 left in the game.
Khamari Johnson’s 2-point conversion run was good, giving Southside its only score for the night.
In the second half, Neal rushed for 156 yards and passed for 22 yards, while Southside rushed for 2 yards and passed for 18 yards.
