Selma fell to Hillcrest-Tuscaloosa Tuesday in the  first round of the Class 6A, area 6 volleyball tournament.

The Saints (13-3) were swept by the Patriots 25-10, 25-5, 25-4.

“At the end of the day, I applaud them and appreciate them playing 6A ball and being majority freshmen and eighth grader,” Selma head coach Melissa White said of her team. “To compete against expereinced, sophomores, juniors and seniors, I applaud them.”

The loss ended Selma’s season.

 

Demopolis 3, Dallas County 0

Demopolis rolled past Dallas County in the championship of the Class 5A, area  6 tournament Tuesday at Demopolis.

Demopolis won all three sets of Tuesday’s match.  Dallas County defeated Sumter Central in the first round of the tournament and will advance to play at Reheboth in the next round of the playoffs.
