TUSCALOOSA — Turnovers ended up costing Meadowview Christian Friday night in a 24-20 loss to North River Christian.
Three fumbles and four interceptions hurt the Trojans (3-3) on a night where the offense couldn’t seem to get out of its own way.
“We should have won the game but we didn’t come ready to play,” Meadowview Christian head coach Lebo Jones said. “We had too many turnovers. We almost came back but it was too little, too late.”
The Trojans trailed 16-0 early but pulled within 24-14 at halftime. Justin McGuire, Dakota Sanders and Chris Maul scored the three touchdowns for the Trojans on the night.
“We made too many mistakes to win,” Jones said. “When you make that many mistakes you can’t expect to win against anybody.”
Meadowview’s next game will be against Tuscaloosa Christian. Four of the Trojans last five games are a home.
