The Selma Police Department is advising motorists to avoid Hooper Drive Tuesday because of tree-cutting work.
Sgt. Rox Nix, Traffic Division commander, said Hooper Drive, from West Dallas Avenue to Atkins Avenue would be closed July 29 starting at 8:30 a.m.
The closure is directly in front of the Selma Country Club. The closure will last for an indefinite amount of time, as Asplundh Tree Service will be doing work for Alabama Power Company, Nix said.
He recommended taking Crescent Hill Drive as an alternative route, if needed.
The closure could continue through Wednesday, if Asplundh doesn’t finish its work in one day, Nix said.
